why you must have a marketing strategy focused on recovering your
inactive customers.

Although it may seem
difficult to reengage a customer who has not interacted with your emails for several months, it is not impossible. You need an original subject line and personalized content that serves
to reconnect with your customer and remind them the benefits of your brand.

These emails serve to show your subscribers that their opinion and relationship with them
matters to you. Therefore, you can take the opportunity to add a quick survey and ask for the
reasons why they are no longer interested in your emails. An effective way to
encourage them to respond is to include a promotion or gift.

This automation is triggered when a contact subscribes to a form, so you must create one beforehand in your audience.

You also need to have an “Inactive” group created in which you have linked all the subscribers who do not interact with your campaigns.

How to create a re-engagement automation for inactive subscribers?

  1. Create a new scenario, give it a title such as “Inactive Reengagement” and select the audience you are going to work with.
  2. Select  Contact Activity > Completed Form as a trigger
    You must have a subscription form posted in your audience.

  3. Add an “email” first, add an internal title to identify the campaign in the next steps, and complete the rest of the fields. Pay special attention to the email subject and preheader.
    Select the template and click on save.
  4. Now, add “Wait.” Select a reasonable time period so that the subscriber has enough time to open the email.
  5. Then include a “condition”.
    Select any type of operator (in this case it doesn’t matter “All” or “Any” since only one condition must be met).
    Select campaign activity > Opened > email # 1 title of your email
  6. In the “Thumb up (YES)” node add “Action > Unlink from a group” and select the “Inactive” group *
    * You must create an “Inactive” group in which you have linked all inactive subscribers.
  7. In the “Thumb down (NO)” node select a new “email” with the same discount modify the subject line to encourage its opening.
  8. Immediately afterwards, add another “Wait” step with a reasonable amount of time for the subscriber to open and read it.
  9. Then add a new “condition”.
    Select any type of operator (in this case it doesn’t matter “All” or “Any” since only one condition must be met).
    Select campaign activity > Opened > email #2  title of your email
  10. In the “Thumb up (YES)” node add “Action > Unlink from a group” and select the “Inactive” group * You must create an “Inactive” group in which you have linked all inactive subscribers.
  11. In the “Thumb down (NO)” node select a new “Action > Unsubscribe”.
