Did you know that acquiring new customers is six times more expensive than retaining existing ones? That’s why you need a marketing strategy focused on reactivating your inactive customers.

While re-engaging a customer who hasn’t interacted with your emails for months may seem challenging, it’s not impossible. You need an original subject line and personalized content that reconnects with your customer and reminds them of your brand’s benefits.

These emails show your subscribers that their opinion and relationship with you matter. Take this opportunity to include a quick survey and ask why they are no longer interested in your emails. To encourage responses, you can offer a promotion or gift as an incentive.

Here’s how to set up this flow:

Setup

This automated email marketing campaign is triggered when a contact subscribes through a form, so you need to create one in your audience beforehand.

You also need to have a group called "Inactive" where all subscribers who don't interact with your campaigns are linked.

How to Create a Re-Engagement Automation for Inactive Subscribers?

  1. Create a New Scenario
Name it something like “Re-Engagement Inactive” and select the audience you’ll work with.

  2. Set the Trigger
Choose Contact Activity > Form Completed.
Make sure you have a published subscription form in your audience.

  3. Add the First Email

Select the template and click Save.

  4. Add a Wait Step
